Asian Peaks & Ancient Cities — Climbing Peak Yukhin — 14 Days
Summiting a 5,000-meter peak sounds like something only professional climbers do — but Peak Yukhin (5,130 m) is reachable without special gear, under an experienced guide. It’s a chance to say “I stood at 5,000 meters” without years of training, then trade glaciers for the turquoise domes of Samarkand and Bukhara.
Route
Osh → “Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp → Onion Meadow → Lake Tulpar-Kul → the Petrovsky Peak ridge → “Sunny” camp (4,400 m) → Peak Yukhin (5,130 m) → Osh → Kokand → Tashkent → Samarkand → Gijduvan → Bukhara.
Why this tour
- Unlike “The Pamir Highway & the Silk Road” (the same starting camp, but continuing through the Wakhan Corridor into Tajikistan), this one features an actual summit climb with no special mountaineering gear.
- Just two countries instead of three — simpler logistics and visas.
- Pack horses carry your gear to the forward camp, so your summit-day pack stays light.
- Finishing with classic Uzbekistan gives you a well-earned rest after the high-altitude push.
