Uzbekistan has a sharply continental desert climate: hot, dry summers and cool, sometimes frosty winters. The best time to visit is spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when daytime temperatures sit around 15–25°C. Summer (June–August) is very hot, often above 35–40°C in Bukhara and Khiva — plan early-morning sightseeing and avoid midday sun. Winter (December–February) is mild in the south but can drop below 0°C at night, especially in Tashkent and the mountains.
