The Silk Road by Private Train — Tashkent to Almaty — 15 Days
Our second private-train Silk Road route — this time with a clear sense of direction: from Uzbekistan’s flat deserts, through the mountains of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, to an alpine lake and a Kazakh metropolis. Your cabin stays the same the whole trip; the scenery outside changes almost daily.
The reverse direction is also available — Almaty → Tashkent, via Issyk-Kul, Bishkek, Samarkand, Shakhrisabz, Dushanbe, Bukhara and Khiva.
Route
Tashkent → Amirsoy resort → Charvak → Khiva → Bukhara → Shakhrisabz → Dushanbe → Samarkand → Bishkek → Ala-Archa National Park → Lake Issyk-Kul → Almaty.
Why this tour
- Unlike “Caspian Sea & the Silk Road” (which starts in Aktau and reaches the Aral Sea), this route begins right in Tashkent and detours into Dushanbe, finishing in Almaty.
- Four countries with no packing, no unpacking, no hotel-to-hotel transfers — you sleep in the same cabin the whole trip.
- Shakhrisabz and Dushanbe on the same route is a combination you won’t find on any of our other tours.
- A finale in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan and by Lake Issyk-Kul is a fitting contrast after Uzbekistan’s deserts.
