Shakhimardan — High-Altitude Lakes and the Sel-Unkur Cave — 2 Days
A mountain enclave most travelers can’t even find on a map — Shakhimardan is surrounded on all sides by Kyrgyzstan, reachable only through the Fergana Valley. Blue lakes, a cave and a birch grove in the mountains, in two days, with one overnight stay and no complicated logistics.
Route
Tashkent → Kadamjoy → Shakhimardan → the Kulikkubon lakes → Kadamjay (overnight) → the Sel-Unkur cave → the Ok-Kayin birch grove → the Kamchik pass → Tashkent.
Why this tour
- Our first tour with an overnight stay beyond the usual one-day format — the next step for travelers who’ve already tried our short excursions.
- Shakhimardan is a geographic rarity: a mountain enclave entirely inside another country.
- The cable car up to the blue Kulikkubon lakes delivers a panorama without hours of hiking.
- The Sel-Unkur cave and the Ok-Kayin birch grove offer two distinct nature experiences in one trip.

- Breakfast, a tour of the Sel-Unkur cave. Drive to the Ok-Kayin birch grove in the mountains, a walk, an outdoor barbecue lunch. Cross the border, return to Tashkent via the Kamchik pass.
