Samarkand & Bukhara by High-Speed Train — a Short Weekend from Tashkent — 3 Days
Friday evening — Registan Square. Sunday — back home. This tour is built for people who live or work in Tashkent and want a short weekend spent in Samarkand and Bukhara instead of a dacha, with no flights and no extra days off beyond the usual weekend.
Route
Tashkent → Samarkand → Bukhara → Tashkent (on “Afrosiyob” trains).
Why this tour
- Unlike “Two Capitals of the East” (5 days, requiring a flight into Samarkand and out of Bukhara), this is a short train weekend straight from Tashkent and back.
- The Khovrenko winery in Samarkand — Uzbek winemaking is older than most tourists assume.
- Just 3 days, genuinely fitting inside a normal weekend with no vacation days needed.
- The “Afrosiyob” train is faster and more comfortable than a car — no multi-hour drives.
