Pamir & Uzbekistan — Easy Hiking — 13 Days

Not everyone wants to tackle 4,000-meter passes with a heavy pack — and that’s no reason to skip the Pamirs entirely. This is the gentler version: the same legendary views, the same yurt camp beneath Peak Lenin, but no summit attempt and no multi-day moves. Easy-paced walks with gradual acclimatization, capped off with the full classic Uzbekistan route.

Route

Osh → Kyrgyz-Ata national park → “Edelweiss Meadow” yurt camp → Onion Meadow → Lake Tulpar-Kul → Travelers’ pass → the Petrovsky Peak ridge → Osh → Tashkent → Samarkand → Gijduvan → Bukhara.

Day by day

1. Arrival in Osh, check-in, free time.
2. Kyrgyz-Ata national park — an acclimatization walk, lunch in a yurt, meeting local nomads.
3. Drive along the Pamir Highway over the Taldyk pass (3,600 m) to the “Edelweiss Meadow” camp, walk to Onion Meadow.
4. Hike to the lakes of the Achik-Tash valley and the sacred Tulpar-Kul lake.
5. Hike to the Travelers’ pass (4,150 m) — the highest point of the route.
6. Climb to the viewpoint on the Petrovsky Peak ridge (4,100 m).
7. An Uzgen plov masterclass, drive to Osh.
8. Cross the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border, drive to Tashkent over the Kamchik pass.
9. Tashkent: the Khast-Imam complex, Chorsu Bazaar. Drive to Samarkand.
10. Samarkand: Registan Square, the Gur-Emir mausoleum, the Bibi-Khanym mosque, the Shah-i-Zinda ensemble.
11. Drive to Gijduvan — a masterclass with the ceramicists. On to Bukhara in the evening.
12. Bukhara: the Samanid mausoleum, the Ark fortress, the Poi-Kalyan ensemble, Lyab-i Hauz.
13. Transfer to Bukhara airport, departure.
