A linear west-to-east route with no backtracking. It starts in Nukus with the unique “Louvre in the desert” and the ancient Mizdakhan necropolis, and ends at Tashkent’s international airport, convenient for onward connections.
Route
Nukus → Mizdakhan → Khiva → Bukhara → Gijduvan → Samarkand → Tashkent.
Day by day
- Arrival in Nukus, check-in, free evening.
- The Savitsky Museum (“the Louvre in the desert”), the Mizdakhan necropolis with the “Tomb of Adam.” Drive to Khiva.
- Khiva: Ichan-Kala, Kunya-Ark fortress, Tash-Khauli palace.
- Drive to Bukhara across the Kyzylkum desert.
- Bukhara: Samanid mausoleum, Ark fortress, Poi-Kalyan ensemble, Lyab-i Hauz.
- The Sitorai Mokhi Khosa palace, drive to Gijduvan — masterclass with the ceramicists. On to Samarkand in the evening.
- Samarkand: Registan Square, Gur-Emir mausoleum, Bibi-Khanym mosque, Shah-i-Zinda ensemble.
- Samarkand continued: the Afrasiyab museum, Ulugbek Observatory. Drive to Tashkent.
- Tashkent: Khast-Imam complex, Chorsu Bazaar, lunch at the plov center.
- Transfer to the airport, departure.
