Uzbekistan honours Pakistani travel partners at Islamabad road show

Uzbekistan’s growing appeal among Pakistani travellers was on full display in Islamabad on 31 August 2026, when the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Pakistan, together with the Uzbekistan Tourist Information Center Pakistan, hosted the “Uzbekistan — Where History Meets the Future” Road Show and Tourism Excellence Awards at the Marriott Hotel.

The event brought together senior government officials, diplomats, tourism industry leaders, airline representatives and media professionals. As reported by Times of Central Asia and Pakistani news outlet DND, Excellence Awards were presented to Pakistani travel companies for their outstanding work in promoting Uzbekistan — among the recipients were Bukhari Travels Lahore, Gerry’s International, Holiday Planner, Ibex Global Tours, Travel Adviser Islamabad and Uzbekistan Airways.

The ceremony concluded with a showcase of traditional Uzbek cuisine and a live cultural performance, offering guests a vivid taste of the hospitality and heritage that awaits on the Silk Road.

The event comes at a moment of rapidly deepening Pakistan–Uzbekistan travel ties. That same week, Centrum Air launched twice-weekly direct flights between Tashkent and Karachi, bringing the total number of weekly air connections between the two countries to eight.
