Uzbekistan surpasses 10 million visitors in the first nine months of 2026
Uzbekistan has set another landmark in its tourism story: 10.3 million foreign visitors arrived between January and September 2026, a 20.4% rise compared to the same period in 2025, according to data released by the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan on 7 October and confirmed by gov.uz and daryo.uz. September alone contributed around 1.2 million arrivals, sustaining the momentum built through the summer high season.
The revenue picture is equally striking. Exports of tourism services for the nine-month period totalled $5.3 billion — an increase of 51.2% on the same stretch of 2025 — signalling that visitors are spending more per trip and staying longer, not just arriving in greater numbers.
Growth is well distributed across origin markets. The sharpest gains came from Asia: arrivals from China more than doubled (up 2.1 times), and visitor numbers from Malaysia rose by 1.9 times. Egypt, Romania and Indonesia also posted impressive increases, while established European markets continued their steady expansion — Germany and the United Kingdom up 25%, France up 21%, and Türkiye up 15%, as reported by uzdaily.uz.
With October and November still ahead, total arrivals for the full year appear on track to comfortably surpass any previous annual record — an encouraging signal for travellers, operators and investors planning their engagement with one of Central Asia’s most dynamic destinations.
