Uzbekistan welcomes nearly 7.8 million visitors in January–July 2026
Uzbekistan received 7,749,307 international visitors between January and July 2026 — a 22.6% increase compared with the same seven-month period last year, according to Xinhua. The result extends an already impressive run: earlier in the year the country ranked among the global top five for arrival growth in the first quarter, and the momentum has clearly continued through the summer.
Alongside rising visitor numbers, the economic impact of tourism has grown sharply. Exports of tourist services totalled $3,895.7 million over the first seven months — up 56% year-on-year, reflecting both higher spending per visitor and the growing appeal of Uzbekistan as a premium Silk Road destination.
Investment in accommodation is keeping pace with demand: 705 new hotels and guesthouses with a combined capacity of 22,296 beds opened during the same period, bringing the country’s total to 7,440 accommodation facilities with over 202,000 beds nationwide.
For anyone planning a Silk Road journey, the figures paint a picture of a destination investing seriously in its visitors — more beds, better connections, and a hospitality industry growing fast enough to welcome the world.
